Are you planning a trip to Philadelphia soon and in search of the perfect place to stay? You’ll want to keep reading.
The perfect alternative option to hotels and resorts, Airbnb is the perfect platform for travelers to use when jetting on a budget. Not only is Airbnb easy on the wallet, but travelers get to experience the cities they visit just like the locals that inhabit them. Plus, hosts can sometimes step in as personal tour guides (if they choose).
My first Airbnb stay was in Philadelphia where I traveled for a quick girl’s weekend getaway – it was absolutely perfect! The Airbnb was located in South Philly — an area that offers a number of hip restaurants and lively nightlife spots right down the street (literally a six minute walk). The location of the town home was also a short Uber ride from the center of Philly and all the main tourist attractions.
The Airbnb host, Veronica, was extremely helpful, and left a hand-written guide to all the best restaurants and fun activities in the area. It’s also worth mentioning that she put two glasses of chilled champagne on the counter that were waiting to be popped when I arrived – the perfect welcoming gift!
This particular Airbnb also included free WiFi and the typical favorite streaming apps like Netflix, HBO and Hulu!
Most importantly, the house was stunningly beautiful, very clean, and spacious.
Veronica and her husband had recently gutted and renovated the entire house to what is it is today. The house has two floors, which include two bedrooms, two full baths, an open concept living area, a chefs kitchen, a reading/bonus room, and a quaint but spacious backyard adorned with strings of patio lights, adorondack-like wooden chairs, and a grill (perfect for that summer BBQ). It felt like a stay in house straight out of a Better Homes & Gardens Magazine!
The main highlight was the fully stocked mini fridge that included different types of beer, wine, champagne and soda (which I took full advantage of).
For all the coffee lovers out there, the kitchen also included a fully-stocked Keurig machine with assorted flavored coffees, teas, and hot chocolate. The house felt extremely homy as I sipped on cups of Joe (spiked with a little bit of Kahlua!) in the morning while lounging in the plush robe that Veronica also graciously provided during our stay.
For those who take advantage of the offer to book this Philly gem, let me know about your experience, and don’t forget to tell Veronica East Coast Contessa sent you!
